COUNTRY JAM 2014:This summer’s Country Jam, the largest country concert in central Ohio, will be a TWO DAY event held at Legend Valley Concert Venue and Campground on June 13th-14th, and will feature: Hank WIlliams Jr, Dierks Bentley, Randy Houser, Josh Thompson, Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young, Jon Pardi, Frankie Ballard, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, Lindsay Ell, and Austin Webb! Another WCOL Country Jam artist that is sure to impress attendees is Aaron Lewis. Raised in Massachusetts, Lewis is a founding member of the rock band Staind, collectively selling over fifteen million albums and with whom he still tours and records music with. Having performed music alone, even when in a band, Lewis began recording country music in 2010, with his first EP, Town Line, being released the following year. In 2012, he released his first full-length solo album, The Road, which featured the hit single “Grandaddy’s Gun”. Known for his passionate vocal delivery and poignant songwriting, Aaron Lewis will undoubtedly be a highlight of the festival. The two- day festival will be hosted at the historic Legend Valley Concert Venue and Campground located on Buckeye Lake, just thirty minutes east of downtown Columbus. 2015 will mark the 3rd year that WCOL Country Jam has taken place at the venue. The festival is packed with a multitude of country music acts from classic country, southern rock country, and modern country artists.

The WCOL Country Jam is a country festival that has occurred annually for the last 10 years. In 2013, WCOL and Bluestone Promotions formed a partnership to bring the show to the Legend Valley Music Center, a historic venue located near Buckeye Lake in Thornville, Ohio. Previous years included performers Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan and Tim McGraw. The venue boasts acres of campgrounds and a large field with great views of the stage. Legend Valley Music Center has functioned as a music venue since the early 1970’s, but has undergone some name changes since that time. LVMC has hosted a multitude of artists including: The Charlie Daniels Band, The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Alabama, Journey, and Jimmy Buffett.

Mitchell Tenpenny is an industry insider/outlier. Someone who has a local’s appreciation for the origins of Nashville and keen focus on what happens outside of Music City.
The rugged individualist operates with complete confidence and comfort in the space between contradictory themes. He is a creative thinker with a keen business sense. He is fiercely competitive, but is equally vocal proponent for his industry colleagues. He finds inspiration in music as diverse as Michael Jackson and the Oak Ridge Boys.
And none of that seems the least bit unusual or out of whack to the Nashville native with an industry pedigree (his grandmother was industry legend Donna Hilley who shaped the musical landscape of country music as CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing). He lives his life and his budding musical career on both ends of the spectrum.
He’s authentic thanks in large part to Tenpenny’s fearless skill as a songwriter, which includes a Top 5 hit for Granger Smith, “If the Boot Fits,” and time spent opening for a variety of influential artists including Smith, Dustin Lynch (Ride of Die Tour), Maren Morris (Renegade Revival Run), Jake Owen, Brett Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dustin Lynch, Gary Allan, and others.
