Born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, country singer and songwriter Drake White’s mix of country, blues, funk, rock & roll, and reggae and his energetic, foot-stomping live shows eventually led him to Nashville and beyond. Growing up, he sang in the choir at his local church, and after getting a guitar at the age of 14 from a neighbor down the road who played bluegrass, he began writing and playing songs, continuing to do so while attending Gadsen State Community College and then Auburn University, earning a degree in building science even as he played in the local venues at night. After graduation, White took a job with a general contractor in Nashville, working by day and playing the song rounds at night, developing, with his band the Big Fire, a crackling and energetic stage presence that often found him freestyling lyrics in the middle of songs. He caught the eye of producer Jeremy Stover and was soon signed to MCA Nashville, turned his attention full-time to music, and released a debut single, “Simple Life,” on the label early in 2013. A year later, White signed with Big Machine affiliate Dot Records, resulting in a pair of 2015 singles, “It Feels Good” and “Livin’ the Dream.” In August 2016, Dot released White’s debut album, Spark. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi

The New York Times declares “…in the emergent field of gentleman country — an antidote to the bros of the last few years — William Michael Morgan stands tall.” The praise continues with his debut album VINYL, being hailed as a “sturdy, reflective debut album….a throwback to the temperate wisdom of midcareer George Strait.” The record, which opened in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart, has landed him on countless year-end best album lists, including Rolling Stone, iTunes and Saving Country Music. His breakout mega-hit “I Met A Girl” has earned top song of the year nods from Billboard and NPR. The song topped charts and has garnered over a billion audience impressions, including over 25 million on-demand streams. Morgan recently released the title track as his third single. The tune harkens back to yesteryear with a modern twist.

The Beatles Marathon is arguably the most ambitious musical feat attempted in Columbus each year, and it has also become a beloved community event. For Peppercorn, who’s now known more for the Beatles show than for his band the Whiles, the event isn’t some excuse to play a bunch of covers and make some money. It’s an essential, sacred part of his life.
“You could find better musicians – especially with me,” Peppercorn said. “There are always at least 100 people in the Bluestone who could sing the song I am singing better than me. [But] we are the island of misfit toys, and this show is our home.” -Columbus Alive

Mitchell Tenpenny is an industry insider/outlier. Someone who has a local’s appreciation for the origins of Nashville and keen focus on what happens outside of Music City.
The rugged individualist operates with complete confidence and comfort in the space between contradictory themes. He is a creative thinker with a keen business sense. He is fiercely competitive, but is equally vocal proponent for his industry colleagues. He finds inspiration in music as diverse as Michael Jackson and the Oak Ridge Boys.
And none of that seems the least bit unusual or out of whack to the Nashville native with an industry pedigree (his grandmother was industry legend Donna Hilley who shaped the musical landscape of country music as CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing). He lives his life and his budding musical career on both ends of the spectrum.
He’s authentic thanks in large part to Tenpenny’s fearless skill as a songwriter, which includes a Top 5 hit for Granger Smith, “If the Boot Fits,” and time spent opening for a variety of influential artists including Smith, Dustin Lynch (Ride of Die Tour), Maren Morris (Renegade Revival Run), Jake Owen, Brett Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dustin Lynch, Gary Allan, and others.

“We wanted to show a different side and make a record that sounds like us,” Stephen Barker Liles says of Love and Theft’s boundary-pushing new album Whiskey On My Breath. “Country music has always been about honest performances and songs that mean something, and that’s the kind of record that we wanted to make.”
“We’re at a different place, in our music and in our lives, than we were when we made our earlier records, and we wanted this album to reflect that,” agrees his longstanding musical partner Eric Gunderson. “We worked harder and more passionately on this record than anything we’ve ever done. The whole experience was refreshing and inspiring for us.”
Whiskey On My Breath—the duo’s third album—marks a significant creative statement for the two singer-songwriter-guitarists, whose resume already includes a long series of career highlights. Having already established themselves as one of country’s hottest young acts with such memorable hits as the #1 country smash “Angel Eyes” and the Top 10 hit “Runaway,” and their widely acclaimed albums World Wide Open and Love and Theft, the ACM/CMA/CMT-nominated twosome take their music to the next level on Whiskey On My Breath.

There’s a new force making major waves in country music, Muscadine Bloodline. Proud natives of Mobile Alabama, Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster started Muscadine Bloodline in early 2016. From the first time they took stage, Nashville started talking… so now, with two Billboard charting critically acclaimed EP’s under their belt, it’s no surprise the rest of the music world is quickly catching on. The duo’s reputation for high-energy live experiences has resulted in a schedule full of shows spanning from coast to coast. Charlie’s contemporary vocals complimented by Gary’s harmonies and masterful guitar licks make MB a powerfully refreshing mix of talent, passion and unfiltered authenticity. Infamously undaunted by the big stage, their sound intertwines the brash irreverence of early southern rockers with the seductive quality of 90s country love songs. Captivating hooks heard in songs like “Movin’ On” and the aggressively anthemic “WD-40” stand as a testament to MB’s wide ranging music-making capability. Every song and every show is a moving experience but at the same time, unmistakably Muscadine Bloodline.

Creating a sound that fuses modern Country and classic heartland rock with an edgy vocal blend, Wheelhouse Records’ LOCASH is the Country music duo made up of singer-songwriters Chris Lucas and Preston Brust; natives of Baltimore, Maryland, and Kokomo, Indiana, respectively. With two albums and eight charting singles to their credit, LOCASH broke out in 2015 with their gracious GOLD-certified hit, “I Love This Life,” followed by the flirtatious GOLD-certified #1 smash, “I Know Somebody” –their first trip to the top of the Country radio airplay charts –and 2017’s fun-loving romantic anthem “Ring on Every Finger.” All three singles were part of their album, THE FIGHTERS, which was released in the summer of 2016 to Top 15 success. In 2017, they earned their first round of awards show recognition, nominated at the ACM Awards for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, the CMT Music Awards for Duo Video of the Year (“I Know Somebody”), and the CMA Awards for Vocal Duo of the Year. The 2019 ACM Duo of the Year nominee released their latest album (and first with their new label BBR Music Group/BMG), Brotherson March 29, 2019 with their lead single, “Feels Like A Party” reaching Top 25. Country-rock band LANCO — which stands for Lancaster & Company — were formed in 2013 by namesake and frontman Brandon Lancaster. Hailing from Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, the quintet members included drummer Tripp Howell, guitarist Eric Steedly, keyboardist Jared Hampton, and bassist Chandler Baldwin. Crafting feel-good country anthems tinged with classic rock and blues edges, LANCOgot their start after a chance meeting between Lancaster and producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town) at a Keith Urban concert. Joyce signed LANCO to his publishing company and produced their eponymous debut EP. The band signed with Sony Music Nashville imprint Arista Nashville in late 2015. Their second EP, Extended Play, was released in early 2016. It contained three of the same songs as their debut, exchanging “High” for newer track and lead single “Long Live Tonight,” a pop-infused country song with a Kings of Leonundercurrent. In 2017, their song “Greatest Love Story” was also featured as the theme for the Netflix series The Ranch, and this placement helped break the band, with the single reaching Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Top Ten. Hallelujah Nights, the band’s long-awaited full-length debut, appeared in January 2018. They returned the following year with the single “Rival.”

“I just try to be as real as possible,” says “Prayed for You” hit maker Matt Stell. “Just trying to tell some kind of truth is the hallmark of what I do.”
Coming from a true singer-songwriter like Stell, that’s not really an Earth-shattering statement. What makes it interesting, though, is the wealth of experience he has to pull from. A renaissance man in modern country, Stell is both an artist and an athlete, a soulful Southern vocalist and a worldly wayfarer. He’s a deep-thinking academic and a live-for-the-moment dreamer. And he’s a writer whose passion for the page is only equaled by his addiction to the stage.

Chase Rice first climbed charts as a co-writer of Florida Georgia Line’s monster hit “Cruise,” the historic 24-week No. 1 that perched atop the Billboard Hot Country Chart longer than any other song in the chart’s then-69-year history. In 2014, Rice broke through as an artist: Ignite the Night yielded Top 5 singles “Ready, Set, Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” which he followed in 2017 with the acclaimed Lambs & Lions before ultimately earning his first No. 1 single as an artist, 2019’s two-week chart-topper “Eyes On You.”

A pop-country act built around the striking harmonies of Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles, Love and Theft came together in Nashville in 2006. Initially, vocalists and songwriters Gunderson, Liles, and Brian Bandas took turns singing leads, while the other two sang gorgeous backing harmonies. Versatile, bright-sounding, and with a clear sense of pop-country arrangement, Love and Theft‘s live shows brought them an enthusiastic fan base. After playing a showcase for ASCAP representatives, Love and Theft were offered a deal with the Disney-affiliated country label Lyric Street Records. Working with producers Jeff Coplan and Robert Ellis Orrall, the trio released its debut album, World Wide Open, on CarolWood Records (a Lyric Street affiliate) in mid-2009. The album’s first single, “Runaway,” peaked at number ten on the country singles chart, while the album also cracked the country Top Ten. However, Lyric Street and CarolWood were closed by Disney in April 2010, and the group went looking for a new label. Bandas left the band in 2011, and Gunderson and Liles continued on as a duo. The two-piece Love and Theft were signed to RCA Nashville later that same year. A single from the duo, “Angel Eyes,” was a major country hit, rising to number one on the C&W singles charts, while the subsequent album, simply called Love and Theft, went to number four on the country albums survey. However, Love and Theft had completed most of their third album when they fell into disputes with RCA Nashville, and they parted ways with the label. Launching their own Hate & Purchase Music, Love and Theft self-released Whiskey on My Breath in February 2015. The album’s title track rose to 31 on the country singles chart, and in 2016 the duo signed with Curb Records, which soon reissued Whiskey on My Breath.
