About ACM Lifting Lives®

ACM Lifting Lives® is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music. Through partnerships with artists and strong ties in the music industry, ACM Lifting Lives develops and funds music-related therapy and education programs, and serves members of the community who face unexpected hardships through its Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund. Through generous donations and the support of artists and fans, ACM Lifting Lives is able to fund everything from disaster relief and helping communities in need, to music education in schools and music camps for those with disabilities, to supporting programs that use music therapy as a means to help our veterans and wounded warriors, while providing grants to help them ease back into life. For more information, please visit www.ACMLiftingLives.org.

Music defines Chase Bryant. At every level and in often unexpected ways, his truths are expressed in melody, lyrics, hooks and sounds … but his reality goes even deeper than that. Bryant’s heritage is defined by music. His upbringing, his craft, his inspiration and his obsessions are all centered in the same – which is good – because there’s no other way to explain how a 23-year-old Texan could already be a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter, RED BOW recording artist and co-producer of his debut album.

Bluestone Promotions, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bluestone, located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, has decided to no longer be involved with the promotion of 92.3 WCOL Country Jam. Bluestone Promotions has been the promoter for the event, held at Legend Valley Music Center in Thornville, Ohio, since 2013. The event brought central Ohio some of country music’s biggest stars, including Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Hank Williams Jr., Chris Young, and many more. The event has grown into a three day festival over Labor Day weekend bringing in excess  of 21,000 country music fans to the Buckeye Lake area during each event.

“The team at The Bluestone has decided to concentrate on their core business this summer”, said Hank Straty, President and General Manager of the Bluestone. “We are concentrating the resources, normally spent promoting Country Jam, on continuing to build central Ohio’s love of country music in the downtown area of Columbus. While we have enjoyed promoting 92.3 WCOL Country Jam and building it into what it has become to date, we feel that our energy is better spent this year in the downtown Columbus area” said Straty.

The Bluestone, located at 583 East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio (www.liveatthebluestone.com), brings many national country music acts to the historic, converted church throughout the year. The Bluestone was nominated in 2016 by the Academy of Country Music for “Nightclub of the Year” and is considered one of the areas most unique venues for corporate and private events. The Bluestone has also received The Knot’s “Best of weddings Award” for the past 6 years.

While we are not sure what the plans are at WCOL for Country Jam it has been our sincere pleasure working with such professionals to help build this event into the “Legend” that it has become. Bluestone Promotions has truly enjoyed our relationship with WCOL and all of our partners at Country Jam for the past 4 years and we are excited to see what the future holds for this event.

Tucker Beathard Live November 10th 2016

Tucker Beathard Live November 10th 2016

At just 20 years old, singer-songwriter Tucker Beathard already exudes the confidence and swagger of an established artist. It’s probably because music is in his blood. He started playing drums and guitar in a band with his brothers at 10 years old and had an early immersion into songwriting via his dad, two-time BMI “Songwriter of the Year” Casey Beathard. It was Tucker’s rebellious attitude as a teenager that inspired the lyrics for the chart-topping hit “Homeboy” recorded by Eric Church. Not long after making the decision to forgo a baseball scholarship to focus on music, Beathard signed a publishing deal with Big Machine Music and a recording contract with DOT Records. Now he is beginning to carve a path for his own unique and unapologetic sound with lyrics like “Hell no I don’t mind turning heads; Hell yeah I’ll get by living on the edge; Our point of views may never meet; I don’t wanna be you, yeah I know me.” Beathard is working on his debut album and is already booked for shows this summer with superstars Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban. http://tuckerbeathard.com/home

Growing up in a family that excelled at both music and sports — his father is a hit songwriter; his brothers, star quarterbacks — Big Machine Label Group recording artist Tucker Beathard has an unrelenting competitive spirit: He wakes up every day trying to write the perfect song. For Tucker, a self-taught guitarist and drummer, there’s no such thing as “good enough.”   “I love anything with great melodies and I’m drawn to the little things,” Tucker says, rattling off his influences with an artist’s attention to detail. “When I listen to Led Zeppelin, I focus on John Bonham’s drums. Or Joe Walsh’s guitar licks in the Eagles. And Hank Williams Jr.’s ‘Family Tradition’ is as country songwriting as it gets.”  Tucker certainly knows something about family tradition, taking cues from dad Casey Beathard, who wrote Kenny Chesney’s “Don’t Blink” and Eric Church’s “Homeboy.” The latter, in fact, was inspired by Tucker, who admits to going through his own rebellious phase.  Giving up a college baseball scholarship to dive headlong into songwriting, Tucker came out better for his diverse experiences and documented those wild times in the wise-beyond-its-years “Momma and Jesus.” The track is one of many in contention for his debut album, being overseen by producer Angelo Petraglia (Kings Of Leon).   With a rhythmic way of playing guitar, influenced by his innate drumming ability, Tucker has created some of contemporary country music’s most progressive songs. “Rock On,” a song about regretting the girl that got away, is taut in its delivery, with clever turns of phrase. Likewise, “20-10 Tennessee,” a standout, uses a football game as metaphor for a relationship and “Better Than Me” puts a unique spin on an arena-ready breakup anthem, ultimately wishing the best for someone after parting ways.   “I’ve always been a huge fan of deep songs, and I’ve always liked poems,” he says. “I’m an introvert, but writing songs that go beneath the surface allows me the chance to open up a piece of myself.”   As does his engaging live show.  Having played with artists like Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert, Tucker regularly bares his soul in front of a crowd. Despite his reserved demeanor, the stage is where he is most free — it’s his canvas to paint an honest picture of who he is, as both a songwriter and an artist.   “Expressing yourself onstage and putting your emotion into each song is a feeling that is tough to match. It’s your way of letting the world know who you are,” says Tucker, who has one main goal when performing. “Whether it’s ‘My heart is broken’ or ‘Let’s party tonight,’ I want people to feel this is a real dude who knows who he is — and who says it like it is.”

Locash returns to The Bluestone

Locash returns to The Bluestone

It’s an exciting time to be LOCASH these days. That might very well be one of the biggest understatements in Nashville these days. Already in their career, the duo of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas have enjoyed hit singles, sold-out concert appearances here and abroad, and have tasted the top of the chart as two of Nashville’s quickest-rising songwriters. But, to quote the old saying… You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.

Recently signing with Reviver Records, the duo is joining forces with some of the biggest names on the Country Music business landscape. Brust says they could feel the team’s energy from the first meeting. “We haven’t felt an energy like this since the day we began our journey. This feels like it has all come together –the right label head, the right promo team, it finally feels like we’ve got all of our ducks in a row for the first time in our lives. We’ve been out there doing the grass roots thing for so long, and to feel it all come together, is so encouraging.”

That part together happened at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon, where the pair worked together in the club’s DJ booth. They talked about their influences – which range from Gospel (Preston’s great-uncle was Gospel legend Albert Brumley) to Rock and Roll bands such as Motley Crue and Quiet Riot. The two also talked about their dreams of a career in the business, which have come true beyond their wildest imagination – though they are far from done writing the chapters to their story.

An integral part of that LOCASH book is their songwriting. “I think that part of what we do reflects our different personalities, and what has happened in our lives,’ says Lucas. “The passing of my father was ‘The Best Seat In The House.’ Preston and I still write things like that. But, a lot of times, as songwriters, you get to go in someone else’s world, and try to think about what you would do in a situation. Some days, I feel like hearing something upbeat, and when there’s a lot of stuff going on in the world, we want to bring something a little fresh and make people want to roll down the window and smile. Then, there are songs that you have for when you’ve loved someone so much in your life, and you don’t want to let them go – like your wife and your kids, we have those songs too. It’s day by day what we write, and I don’t think any of that has changed. I just think the sound of it has evolved. We’re so excited to put it out so people can hear it.”

David Nail-WCOL Miller Lite Concert Series

On Thursday, November 7th, David Nail returns to The Bluestone as part of the WCOL Miller Lite Concert Series. He will be joined by Brothers Osborne and John Andrews. This will be Nail’s fourth time performing on The Bluestone stage!

David Nail’s growing popularity might have to do with the fact that he stands apart from common “Good Ol’ Boys” of modern country music. Nail’s soulful, melodic voice creates a timeless, yet fresh country sound. In February 2011, Nail released his fifth single, “Let It Rain”. It served as the lead-off single to his second studio album,The Sound of a Million Dreams, which was released on November 15, 2011. In January 2012, “Let It Rain” became Nail’s first No. 1 hit. The title track was released as the album’s second and final single, and reached a peak of number 38 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The Sound of a Million Dreams is Nail’s follow-up to 2009’s I’m About to Come Alive, which yielded the Top Ten hit “Red Light” and was also listed by Esquire Magazine as one of “50 Songs Every Man Should Be Listening To.”

David Nail New Photo

David also received an Academy of Country Music nomination for Single Record of the Year for “Red Light.” Furthermore, Nail scored a Grammy nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for “Turning Home.” David’s penchant for sophisticated melodies and lyrical work is demonstrated in every song. “Imagery is so much a part of what draws me to the songs I record. I pick songs with cities in their lyrics or the names of girls because I want you to know exactly where I’m coming from and what I’m talking about,” says David. “I love painting those pictures.” “Whatever She’s Got,” the first single from a new studio album, was released to country radio on May 28, 2013. The single has been gaining momentum, as Nail continues to tour and promote his forthcoming studio album.

Brothers Osborne

Joining Nail will be Maryland-based duo Brothers Osborne. Brothers Osborne have been featured in Paste Magazine’s “Best of What’s Next” list, and were also featured as one of Billboard Magazine’s “Bubbling Under” artists. Influenced by diverse musical genres, the boys create a unique sound that contains elements of bluegrass, country, rock, and folk, and Americana. The Paste article describes their musical upbringing as follows: “Johnny Cash and George Jones were right at home beside Tom Petty and Bob Seger, even Southern rock or blues, all tangled together like some super-music that didn’t require labels.”  Together, the brothers sound, “Like a more aggressive post-Americana guitarslinger/singer duo, a got-to-be-real country act, the pair offers the kind of kinetic chemistry that made Chris and Rich Robinson such a flint strikes rock spark in the Black Crowes.”(Paste). Brothers Osborne’s raw energy and stage presence make this breakout act one to watch in the coming months, and The Bluestone is thrilled to bring them to our central Ohio audience! The sparks are there for sure.
