Here at The Bluestone, we pride ourselves on supporting talented local musicians.
Columbus is continuously burgeoning with impressive musical acts, from country, to rock, to blues, to everything in between.
Here are five of our favorite local musicians/groups who have performed live at The Bluestone.
Be sure to keep your eyes and ears on them–we have a feeling they are bound for big things!
The Floorwalkers
With a solid regional following, energetic live performances, and incredibly likable members, this six-piece “Rock and Soul” band has continuously impressed us with their musical talent.
The band’s first album, The Natural Road, can be heard in its entirety/purchased HERE.
The Floorwalkers are working on their sophomore album, which they are funding entirely without label support. The band recently performed at The Bluestone (along with another local favorite, Forest and the Evergreens), and continue to tour regionally and nationally. Check out their website (www.thefloorwalkers.com) for tour and album information.
Forest and the Evergreens
Forest and the Evergreens plays fusion soul tunes that contain elements that appeal to just about anyone who appreciates quality music. Their sound could be considered “a balance of jazz, rock, soul, funk, ska and a hint of folk.” The sextet was named by Columbus Alive as a “2013 Band to Watch,” and we certainty agree! The band’s performance at The Bluestone in June electrified the audience. Download their album and keep up with their upcoming shows on their website: http://forestandtheevergreens.bandcamp.com/
Aaron Buckley
Country singer Aaron Buckley is no stranger to The Bluestone stage. Hailing from Hilliard, Buckley and his band most recently performed here in March, and play around town frequently, so be sure to follow his facebook page to catch a show near you!
Cliff Cody
You definitely do not want to miss this “Homegrown” hero perform. A friend of all here at The Bluestone, Cliff is a talented country singer/songwriter who has written songs for Julie Roberts and D. Vincent Williams, and has opened for Aaron Lewis, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and many more. Cliff’s soulful vocal chops and pleasant demeanor have gained him a loyal fan following. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with this guy? Keep up with Cliff’s projects and performances HERE
Wyatt McCubbin
At just eighteen-years-old, Wyatt McCubbin’s talent spans well beyond his age. Drawing from traditional roots, Wyatt seeks to follow in the footsteps of famed traditionalists like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Hank Williams Sr. With a song on a collaborative tribute album to Waylon Jennings, and a growing arsenal of songs he has written, Wyatt is on the right path. Wyatt opened for Dwight Yoakam at The Bluestone, Aaron Lewis at Legend Valley, and will perform again at The Bluestone when he opens for Drake White in August! Visit his website for updates and info.
